Abstract: |
The watching brief identified building remains and deposits of late post-medieval date, including a sequence comprising an 18th century wall, a cobble surface, a 20th century wall and demolition debris. Another undated sequence comprised midden deposits, a surface, a garden soil and a rubbish pit. It was possible that significant deposits had survived beneath the lowest level reached in the watching brief, although these were likely to have been truncated to some extent by modern cellars.
