Abstract: |
The northern half of the site, specifically the Kings Road and Hart Street frontages, were thought to contain evidence for the medieval and post-medieval town of Brentwood, flanking the medieval market place. It was anticipated that building remains spanning the period 1176 to c.1850 would be present along the study sites frontages together with associated features. The remainder of the site was open agricultural or horticultural land until c.1950 and had a low archaeological potential. [AIP] |
