Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out at the rear of the Old Vicarage, 12-14 Watling Street, Leintwardine, at the request of English Heritage. The site is within a scheduled monument. Observation of ground works for the extension of the building and landscaping of the garden revealed the remains of a medieval stone-built oven structure and the edge of the outer defensive ditch of the Roman settlement, which had been previously observed during an evaluation in 1992.[AIP] |
