Abstract: |
The watching brief was conducted during the excavation of footings for the construction of a new storage facility. Documentary research indicated the presence of buildings on or adjacent to the site from at least the 18th century. Field observation however, indicated surviving archaeology to have been subject to considerable disturbance caused by the excavation of a 19th or early 20th century cess pit, the insertion of drainage pipes and the construction of toilet facilities.
