Abstract: |
A sequence of deposits revealed during the excavation of tree planting pits and electrical cable trenches represent post-medieval activity at the site. The earliest layers represent soils of the church's graveyard and possible pathways associated with this phase of activity. Disarticulated human bone was recovered and later re-buried but no in situ burials or other archaeological features were revealed, except for the southern boundary wall for the churchyard which was demolished in the 1950s. The deposits were overlayed by a 20th century dumped layer. [Au(abr)] |
