Abstract: |
The results of the survey show significance magnetic anomalies of perimarine origin. They were particularly prevalent in the eastern part of the survey and appeared to form the northern limit of a broad, weakly magnetic response that is believed to indicate a former river or stream. To the south of this possible palaeochannel was evidence for the saltern that was found during earlier geophysical work; anomalies in the area around the saltern are of ambiguous origin, although this may be a results of the depth of deposits overlying the archaeology.
