Abstract: |
A total of 27 trenches were excavated to the east of the A189 which revealed an extensive pattern of medieval ridge and furrow spread across the high ground with a deep deposit of former plough soil redeposit as colluvium. The lower marginal land to the south-west revealed substantial amounts of alluvium and was devoid of archaeological activity. No significant anthropogenic remains were encountered during this trial excavation. [Au(abr)] |
