Abstract: |
A walkover survey was carried out across pasture land ahead of proposed gravel extraction. Results of a previous watching brief within the application area showed a high potential of the area both for the study of medieval and earlier remains. The walkover survey failed to locate any extant earthworks due to heavy cultivation but other sources, from aerial photography to documentary evidence suggested that the presence of medieval remains on the site was highly probable.
