Abstract: |
A site visit was undertaken following the commencement of construction for an extension to the rear of the bungalow on land lying within the north-western half of Great Casterton Romann fort. The builders had not observed any changes in the soil, which compirsed a heavy pale yellow clay with fragments of limestone. One sherd of Roman pottery, of 1st-2nd century date, was recovered from the spoil. A cursory examination of cultivation beds revealed no archaeological material. [Au(adp)] |
