Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in support of an application for the proposed extensions to a Choir House at Canterbury Cathedral. Three trenches were hand excavated, trenches one and two lay to the north-east of Choir House and trench three to the west. Trenches one and three revealed substantial intact demolition deposits sealing any surviving archaeology. In the area of trench two, significant archaeological deposits, possibly forming part of a monastic lodging and pentice were revealed at close proximity to the present ground surface. [Au(abr)] |
