Abstract: |
A fluxgate gradiometer survey covering approximately 2.8ha was carried out along part of the proposed route of a water pipeline. The survey was centred around an area in which three circular parchmarks had been identified. Anomalies corresponding to the parch-marked features were identified. Other anomalies were identified although it was unclear whether these were geological or archaeological in origin. Rapid magnetic scanning was also carried out at four other sites where earthworks of unknown origin had been identified. No anomalies of a possible archaeological origin were identified during the scanning. [Au(abr)] |
