Abstract: |
A metal detecting rally was held in a field (and an adjacent field) after a previous field walking survey and groundworks for a new barn. The main field was flat except for a large oval mound about 40m in diameter about 2m high which was assumed to be a salt mound. Other salt mounds were scattered nearby along the Pevensey Haven. The fieldwork identified a number of metal artefacts and pottery dating from the 13th to the 17th centuries. [AIP] |
