Abstract: |
The assessment concluded that there was a moderate potential for prehistoric material to be found and good potential for medieval remains. Remains from other periods were possible but unlikely on the study site. Buildings had occupied the site since the 18th century although there may have been some areas that had never been built on. The depth of the basements associated with these buildings would have been deep, although this may not have been the case for the areas behind them. The area of a sunken garden may also have been too deeply disturbed for archaeology to survive. [Au(abr)] |
