Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out within Lichfield Cathedral Close. During floor replacement an 18th century stable, two features, which may have represented a single construction trench, were found. Trenches around Darwin House revealed part of a vault and a sandstone feature, which lined up with a possibly medieval wall. Two foundations were interpreted as the base of a bridge, which had crossed the ditch at the front of the house. [AIP] |
