Abstract: |
The excavations uncovered four medieval pits dating from the 12th-13th centuries, although one may have been from the 10th-11th century. A further pit, stone revetted and with a stone base, and a medieval oven were also excavated. On the removal of a standing building on the site, caves were uncovered, these were formerly accessible from The Old Rose Public House. [Au(abr)] |
