Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of service trenches and the replacement of a floor within a Norman church. Disturbed human remains, an 18th century brick-lined grave and a 19th century wood-coffined burial were recorded, and the base of a 17th-19th century gravestone was found. A probable mid-late 19th century land drain was noted. No evidence of earlier structural features was observed, other than the foundations of two 19th century buttresses, and no artefacts were found.
