Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential development which lay within an Area of Archaeological Potential. No significant archaeological features were observed, other than previously-recorded earthworks. An escarpment and a lower-lying area of land were interpreted as a quarry, perhaps of 17th-18th century date, but the precise function of a flat-based linear depression could not be ascertained. Finds included two post-medieval potsherds and two fragments of glass. It was concluded that no further archaeological work would be required. [Au(adp)] |
