Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the installation of two soakaways in the churchyard. Articulated and disarticulated human bone was found in both soakaways. A grave cut was observed in one soakaway and a stone built tomb chamber in the other, with a later chamber constructed above it. Comparison with early 19th century engravings of the churchyard indicated that over three feet of grave earth had been removed since the 19th century. [Au(abr)] |
