Abstract: |
Quaker's Friars was occupied by Bristol Registry Office with the surrounding area being used for public parking. The Registry Office occupied two much altered medieval buildings, part of a former Dominican Friary and a mid-18th century former 'Friends' (Quakers) Meeting House. Few conclusions were drawn during the watching brief undertaken ahead of the refurbishment of the site. It was clear that medieval deposits survived at depth, in the shape of two walls. Other remains were dated to the post-medieval use of the site. [AIP] |
