Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site, adjacent to a public house which was mentioned as a manor house in a survey of 1609 and had been recorded as a pub since the 17th century. Three trenches were excavated, and a cut feature was recorded which contained post-medieval building material of 16th-19th century date and a fragment of late medieval tile. It was concluded that no further archaeological work would be necessary. [AIP] |
