Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundation trenches at a site which lay immediately outside the area of a Roman fort, parts of which were a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Warwickshire No. 124). A number of medieval sites, including a church and a ditch and palisade which had defended the village, also lay in the vicinity. An undated probable ditch was recorded during the watching brief, but no finds were recovered. The lack of artefacts may have been due to the removal of deposits during the construction of a house at the site. [Au(abr)] |
