Abstract: |
An evaluation and survey was carried out in advance of an extension to the church. The wall survey revealed that the west wall of the church was made from flint, with a clear line showing the 19th century extension. Three trial trenches contained evidence for graves and/or human remains. Only one could be dated, to the late 18th or early 19th century. A long mound on the south side of the church was interpreted as a raised area of the graveyard, possibly truncated and levelled when the church was extended to the west. [Au(abr)] |
