Abstract: |
The site, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, was a medieval moated manor complex. The evaluation identified a sandstone and tile wall foundation to the west of the existing hall building. The wall was situated over the site of a causeway on the line of the extant moat. Post-medieval tile and pottery were associated with the structure. The wall was much later than the original manor site, and it was thought likely that it was past of a post-medieval outbuilding. [Au(abr)] |
