Abstract: |
The desk-top assessment, test pit and auger survey was centred on an area of land north of Faversham. An examination of the topographic location, of data in the Kent County SMR and published sources indicated the potential for earlier prehistoric occupation or palaeoenvironmental evidence beneath accumulated sedimentary deposits. Overall, the site had a low potential to contain evidence of Roman and later periods. However, the southern part of the site had a high potential for the presence of Roman artefactual material.
