Abstract: |
Twenty evaluation trenches were excavated on the site of a proposed quarry extension. Earthworks, representing possible terraces or contour lynchets, and a number of vegetation marks identified on aerial photographs, were sampled. The earthworks were found to comprise the remains of broad terraces forming the elements of a series of agricultural lynchets or a field system probably of Bronze Age date. [AIP] |
