Abstract: |
A single evaluation trench was excavated. The top of the naturally deposited Gravel Terrace and the overlying Langley Silt Complex was encountered. The earliest cultural evidence identified consisted of 19th century ceramic building material and transfer printed pottery fragments, also dateable to the 19th century, recovered from a plough or horticultural soil. A series of east-west aligned masonry walls were recorded, dateable to the late 19th or early 20th century. The trench was sealed by concrete and tarmac hard standing forming the contemporary car park surface. [Au(abr)] |
