Abstract: |
<summary>Excavation near to development associated with the extension to the Jubilee Line revealed Roman features and post-medieval deposits. Several phases of Roman occupation were seen, with layers and features including a roadside ditch, pits, post holes and surfaces dating from AD 40 to AD 100. One phase had ended in fire, and this may relate to the revolt of AD 61. In some areas, Roman deposits had been truncated by a cess-pit, a quarry pit and other post-medieval features. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
