Abstract: |
A sequence of occupation from the late Saxon period to the later Middle Ages was demonstrated. Evidence existed for domestic settlement, yard deposits and areas for rubbish disposal and small-scale industrial activity. No sign of the town's late Saxon defences was located, evidence previously thought to be the defences was discovered to be due to medieval activity. [Au(adp)] |
