Abstract: |
Ten trenches evaluated land for a new school, used as a car park, but in an archaeologically rich area. The evaluation recovered prehistoric pottery, flints, evidence of the pre-car park topsoil and colluvial deposits. These deposits seem to have been induced during the Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age. The shallow depth of the natural in the east of the site suggests the original topsoil was eroded downslope and deposited in the dry valley. [AIP] |
