Abstract: |
Documentary study, magnetometer survey and trenching were employed to evaluate the site proposed for the construction of four poultry houses which lay within a known Roman marching camp. The area was generally rich in cropmark features which appeared to represent a series of enclosures and field systems. The defences of the Roman marching camp were not affected by the proposed development, and no physical evidence for any other features associated with the camp were discovered. [AIP] |
