Abstract: |
The watching brief recorded three features, two pits and a pipe trench. Both pits were sub-circular and were only partially exposed. Both contained a few sherds of early 19th century pottery. The pipe trench contained a 20th century drain. The oldest datable object was a small, copper alloy farthing token. No evidence was found for the existing Priests Cottage having ever been part of a larger building. No medieval finds were recovered despite being within the limits of the medieval settlement.
