Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed a possible medieval hard, an area of hard-standing for the beaching of boats, on the edge of a former shoreline. The hard was probably still in use in the 13th / early 14th century but a later 14th century rubbish dump on the area suggested that by that time its original function had been abandoned. Subsequent 14th/15th century silting created a tidal mudflat across the area. [Au] |
