Abstract: |
The museum lay adjacent to the projected continuation of one of the Roman roads within the town. There was potential for the survival of buried road surfaces and associated Roman structural deposits within the area of interest, although these were considered likely to have been at some considerable depth beneath post-Roman garden soil accumulations. There may also have been the potential for medieval deposits, particularly rubbish pits, in the former rear garden plots behind Park House and Abberley House. Remains associated with the post-medieval gardens within the study area may also have survived at lesser depths. [Au(abr)] |
