Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during road construction in advance of a residential development. Numerous cropmarks of circular, rectangular and square enclosures thought to have been of prehistoric date, ring ditches and other cropmark features had been recorded in the surrounding area. The line of a disused railway crossed the northern part of the site, which had been subject to an earlier watching brief. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were observed within the southern part of the development site, which corroborated the results of the earlier work. [AIP] |
