Abstract: |
A well documented archaeological excavation of human remains discovered in an eroding cliff face was undertaken. Prehistoric activity had been noted in the area and a similar date was at first suggested for the inhumation. Upon further investigation more burials were located and a new theory was thrown into the limelight. This new theory suggested that it was more probable that the human remains were those of ship wreck victims from the post medieval period and the fact that they were buried outside of consecrated ground suggested that they were not Christian.
