Abstract: |
The assessment identified that the proposed residential redevelopment site was one of moderate to high archaeological survival. There was the potential for survival of Palaeolithic remains within deposits associated with the Highbury Sands and silts and underlying gravels. Numerous finds of Mesolithic material had been made in the area, and the site would have been a prime location for food gathering activities during this period. The density of finds of Roman date suggested a potential settlement in the vicinity. [Au(adp)] |
