Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of engineering test pits at a site which lay close to the projected lines of two Roman roads. Roman burials and a medieval manor house had lain in the vicinity. During the watching brief, the floor of a 19th century cellar was revealed. Earlier land surfaces had been removed by basements.
