Abstract: |
An archaeological and cultural heritage study examined a range of sources for available data and included a site walkover survey. The area contained a number of features relating to the medieval and later historic landscape. There were no statutorily protected sites or Listed buildings affected by the proposal. The two principal constraints were the earthwork enclosures in Birchen Coppice and Prickle Shaw, which were of County Importance. It may have been necessary to demonstrate that the preferred well site location and access track do not affect significant archaeological sites were currently recorded. Pre-determination site investigations may have been required. Most surviving hedgerows were considered 'important'. [Au(adp)] |
