Abstract: |
Planning applications had been submitted for the construction of a swimming pool on the west side of Higer Bulbury House. The proposed site lay approximately 100 metres north-east of the hillfort called Bulbury Camp, a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Dorset M125). Important artefact finds had been dated to the first century AD. Two trenches were excavated using manual techniques. Two Bronze Age flints, one an arrowhead, were recovered from the topsoil. These were probably deposited along with hill wash, or by ploughing. There was no evidence to suggest that the proposed development was likely to disturb buried archaeology. [Au] |
