Abstract: |
Evaluation excavations on land south of Scholars Lane, Stratford-upon-Avon, to the rear of No. 16 Church Street, uncovered a pit/well of possible medieval origin and a boundary ditch adjacent and parallel to Scholars Lane of the same period. Finds evidence suggested activity on the site from the 13th century, but the area had been extensively disturbed by a series of vertical-sided gullies, of possible horticultural function, in the 18th century.[AIP] |
