Abstract: |
The evaluation confirmed the presence of seven ring-ditches which had previously been identified through a documentary search and geophysical survey. The ring-ditches were ploughed-out Bronze Age barrows, and in one instance a central burial was recovered. More have been identified in the geophysical survey. Linear features, thought to represent prehistoric land divisions, were also evident. Finds were limited in quantity, but did include an articulated sheep or goat skeleton. Development was thought to impact upon six of the seven ring ditches. [Au(adp)] |
