Abstract: |
<summary>Evaluation, comprising auger, topographic and resistivity surveys and trenching at Brough, and fieldwalking over the whole study area, was undertaken in advance of the proposed dualling of the A46. Fieldwalking identified scatters of Iron Age, Romano-British, medieval and post-medieval pottery. More intensive work around Brough detailed the layout and sequence of enclosures at Brough and revealed four distinct phases of metalled surface overlain by later Roman and Post-Roman deposits. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
