Abstract: |
Two evaluation trenches were excavated. Trench 1 revealed a number of pits and ditches which contained medieval pottery and worked flints and a modern wall. Trench 2 located next to Hollengs Lane showed evidence for a palaeochannel which had run through the village and drained in the River Bain. After silting of the water channel, it was subsequently reused as a trackway through the village in the medieval or post-medieval period. [Au(abr)] |
