An archaeological excavation and watching brief was conducted at the rear of the Queen's Hotel, Newbury. Evidence of a medieval structure was identified on the site. Laminated deposition layers ranging in date from the 12th century onwards were recorded. A late 18th/early 19th century domed well was excavated. [Au]
