Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks for an extension. Two residual sherds of medieval pottery and a possible medieval rubbish pit were recorded. Significant quantities of pottery dating from c. 1600 to the 20th century were found, and eighteen clay pipe bowls were also recovered. Three modern drains and a cess-pit were noted. It was concluded that there was sufficient evidence at the site to suggest that medieval features and deposits could exist at lower levels. [Au(abr)] |
