Abstract: |
A watching brief and excavation were carried out during the redevelopment of the north porch of the church. The excavation, within the porch itself, revealed a sequence of medieval levelling, dumping, a pit and a floor layer. Evidence of metalworking laid beneath an undated hearth and mortar floor. Post-medieval remains comprised further episodes of dumping. Finds included medieval and post-medieval pottery, stone tiles, nails, window glass and human bones. [Au(abr)] |
