Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during the reinstatement of the open archaeological evacuation trenches, originally opened between 1983 and 1985. The trenches were situated within a Scheduled moated platform containing the Grade II* Listed Old Hall with attached Grade II Listed 19th century structures and therefore the backfilling of these trenches required SAM consent. This required the archaeological supervision of all of the works. No previously undisturbed archaeological structures, features or deposits were encountered. [AIP] |
