| Abstract: |
An assessment of aerial photographs was undertaken, in order to identify and map archaeological and natural features to provide a guide for field evaluation. A small number of cropmarks lay in the surrounding area, representing discrete enclosures, a possible medieval drove and peri-glacial cracks. Other than medieval ridge and furrow, no archaeological features were identified within the assessment area itself or on such alignments as would appear likely to extend into it. It was noted, however, that ridge and furrow had the capability of masking earlier features, and that most of the photographs had not been taken at optimum times for recording crop-marks. [Au(adp)] |
