Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out at the site of the Odeon cinema/ Dickinson House prior to a proposed development. The study site contained an extant mid 19th century Grade II Listed Palazzo style warehouse and the cinema which opened in 1930. A early 19th century housing and commercial concerns and below ground remains associated with a number of demolished mid-late 19th century commercial buildings, which probably were warehouses, were expected. The remains were not of any national importance. [Au(adp)] |
