Abstract: |
An archaeological desktop assessment, earthwork assessment and air photographic assessment (undertaken by Air Photo Services Ltd) was carried out. Ridge and furrow remains were identified within the site. Evidence of a possible moat surrounding the early 16th century listed Limetree Farm was detected. No known archaeology was revealed within the area of proposed development, though there was evidence of Roman activity north of Wistow and the village itself was thought to have been settled in the late Anglo-Saxon period.
